Indonesia is planning to build the future sea transportation hub in west part
According to Indonesia media, The CEO of Indonesia first ports corporation say that they will build the future sea transportation hub-Kuala port in North Sumatra province. This project will be divided into four stages to build multifunctional bulk-cargo port, industry zone, transport hub and Rotterdam style port. The final Kuala Tanjung port will be similar as Singapore to be a multifunctional port and transport hub to Europe, the shipping status can equal to Singapore or as it’s reserve, it will be the best top 30 port in global.
The investment of first stage project is 40 million dollars, 70% is from bank loan, 30% is from company own fund. The first stage will be finished in 2018 as plan, then the port can have a capacity of 3.5 million tons palm oil, 4000 standard containers and 1 million tons bulk-cargo. Now the project is already permitted. Kuala Tanjung port is in the middle of Malacca strait, the natural condition is very good with rich palm, rubber. Indonesia government plans to build it as the important resource export channel.
